The program includes four weekly private, in-home training sessions customized to meet your puppy’s needs. These sessions focus on teaching foundational behaviors, such as confidence-building exercises that revolve around noise desensitization, acclimating to sights and sounds in the real world, and addressing common challenges such as helping your puppy settle alone so that both of you can live comfortably together. Training in your home environment ensures that your puppy learns in a familiar, safe environment as they can develop good habits in the area where they’ll spend the most time.
Your puppy will also take part in supervised puppy socials, where they’ll learn appropriate play behavior and rehearse positive interactions with other dogs. These sessions provide a safe, controlled environment to build your puppy’s social skills and boost their confidence around other pups.
Additionally, the Puppy First Steps Academy includes a 3-week group training course held at primepaw’s facility to promote passive socialization in a structured and supportive setting. This course introduces your puppy to new experiences while fostering calm behavior in the presence of other dogs and people. The package also comes with an invitation to join a Google Classroom, giving you access to a library of virtual training resources to reinforce your puppy’s learning at home.
